There are many goddesses in Chinese Art. Here’s a link to a few. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=chinese+goddess&btnG=Google+Search

The ones I’ve seen most are elegant and tall statues usually carved in jade. In a pantheon, the many diffenent gods and goddesses represent many areas of inquiry for the Chinese. For instance, Quan Yin is the goddess of Compassion and Ch’ang O is goddess of the moon. The beauty of these figures is in their giving the faithful an image to pray to or appreciate.

Eastern thought gives us many options for devotion. They simplify things with prayer wheels with prayers written on them and as the faithful turn them, the prayer eminates into the universe. Or they hang prayer flags that send the prayers out with each gust of wind.

In my philosophy, the god/gods that may be listen and all we have to do it be devotional for our supplications to be heard.

Which is your favorite religious figure?
